Buckle of Isis as Your Lover

Buckle of Isis is a moveable sign. It indicates an upcoming change or alteration of some kind relating to the question or this position in the reading.

**********
The Buckle of Isis upon which this card is based was a carving that was said to represent a womb. It does rather look like one. And the emotions and concepts that are attached to it convey the same meaning.

It suggests growth and abundance in anything – investments, family, money, business. But it also acknowledges that with such abundance, there is typically a price to pay. Be it in energy, or time missed with loved ones or health problems due to overwork. It means that you can’t get to what you want without putting in some effort. And bear in mind that it might be quite a significant amount of effort, depending on what it is that you desire.

It does also, however, suggest fidelity and loyalty in relationships.

If you have selected this card to represent your partner, then at least some of the of the energies described above will form part of their personality.

In a relationship sense, if the pair of you are struggling to achieve the balance you desire, it could indicate that either you or they are coming to the possible conclusion that what you thought you wanted may not be worth the effort it will take to get it. Yes, you want success (in whatever form that takes for you) and you will be able to achieve it, but there will be a price to pay. It’s possible that the price is more than one or both of you are willing to pay.

Typically, the Buckle of Isis represents fidelity and fertility, and growth with a sacrifice. However, in certain instances, it may be implying that none of the above is true – so no fidelity, no fertility, and no growth. Instead, it could be suggesting selfishness, inconsistency, and barrenness. It might even be suggesting an empty relationship that is causing you pain.

This is another card that indicates the need for a passage of time in order to see progress. We plant the seed (physical, mental, spiritual or emotional), we care for the seed, we give it the environmental factors it needs to grow strong and healthy. And then we benefit from the harvest. As an aside, this is a very helpful card for pregnancy. Just so long as the mother-to-be is aware of the changes that this new life will bring.
